Republican Senator Stops Ohio Officials BANNING Hydroxychloroquine for COVID Treatment

( Republican lawmakers appear to be among the few forces for good in America when it comes to giving people the best possible chances of recovering from the Chinese coronavirus. As official numbers show more than 150,000 Americans dead thanks to the Chinese virus, health officials and Democrats are teaming up to deny people the chance to use perfectly safe drugs that are widely believed to help treat the disease.

Republican Governor Mike DeWine stepped in this week after the Ohio Department of Health announced that they would prohibit the sale or dispensing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine drugs to treat people suffering from COVID-19. DeWine publicly asked the State Medical Board and the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to “halt the new rule issued Thursday that bans the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment of COVID-19.”

Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-malarial drug that has been used in the United States for decades to treat a number of illnesses. It is understood to be completely safe for people to use as a treatment. President Donald Trump took the drug over a period of 14 days earlier this year as a precautionary measure.

In a tweet, DeWine explained that he agrees with the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Steven Hahn, that prescribing the drug to treat COVID-19 is a matter for patients and doctors – and not for any government.

“The Board of Pharmacy and the State Medical Board of Ohio should revisit the issue, listen to the best medical science, and open the process up for comment and testimony from experts,” he added.

Despite the fact that the drug is safe for people to take and that doctors all over the world have claimed positive results using it as a precaution and a therapeutic, the Ohio Department of Health announced on Thursday that it would be prohibited for use in treating COVID patients because it is not effective.
